Update Drivers

When you finally print a file containing our graphics to a piece of paper or PDF file, you involve another third-party piece of software into the process - the printer/PDF driver. If you document looks fine on your computer screen, but is low resolution when printed or converted to a PDF, you probably need to check on this final step of the process.

Printer Drivers

Printer drivers used to be of varying quality and we used to see lots of issues that could be resolved by simply upgrading a printer driver to the latest version from the printer manufacturer. If you are only seeing issues on printed output, try searching for your printer model and the word "driver" to get the latest version.

PDF Drivers

To convert a document to a PDF, you will use a PDF driver. LOTS of companies produce these drivers and the quality is HIGHLY variable.

Unfortunately, there are so many drivers available, it is very hard to give specific instructions on how to fix resolution issues.

If your documents look fine on screen but your PDF's have issues:

1.Try printing your file through a different PDF driver. We have found the Microsoft Print to PDF driver to be adequate and the Adobe PDF printer driver to be superior. Other drivers can be problematic. A COMMON fault in low quality PDF drivers is that they reduce graphic resolution.
2.Try searching your PDF driver's options for an option to increase the resolution of output.
3.Try updating your PDF driver to the latest version.
