Adobe Add-in Causing Issues

Top  Previous  Next

We have recently noted that an Adobe Add-In to Word, linkCreation.dotm, is causing issues with our integration. While we do not fully understand what is causing the issue, we do have a workaround.

Detecting the Problem

If the add-in is causing a problem, you will see this when you look for the Efofex template.

The cause of the problem is that the Adobe Add-in is creating a new startup location for templates and changing Word to reflect this new location - but your Mac is not reporting the change to us when we try to copy our template into the correct location. The problem is the ".localized" part of the full path.

Workaround

This is NOT a complete fix for the issue, but will allow you to get our template installed. The fix is to access a copy of our template and manually place it in the modified, ".localized" location. Please note that this is often best done by your IT Staff.

Copy and paste FXModernMode.dotm from your desktop into the folder.

Now close everything and restart Word. Hopefully you will now have an Efofex tab.
